Frequently Asked (Operational) Questions
APACS29 (File formatting for Direct Submission)
Q The Program runs but there are only one or two lines in the submission file
A1 If there
are records in the XCASTANK file that are not in the output file,
check that the merchant numbers in the tank file are in the xc27291.out file.
A2 If
you prepared the tank file with the TEST system and are
submitting a file for approval you may need to use your live
merchant numbers.
Read Configuration/Direct Submission in
the Manual to see how to use the terminal number to change the
merchant number.
A3 If
there are records in the XCASTANK file that are not in the output
file, check that there are not extra copies of xc2729*.cfg
and xc2729*.out files.
A4 Long file names when 'seen' from DOS can mean that two files have the
same apparent DOS name and it is just chance which one is
used.
Q The XCASTANK.000 file is empty, whereas the tank file in the backup directory has data.
A This is
OK. The tank file is created in the casfiles directory copied
to bin and to the backup directory with the day of the month as an extension.
Then the file is processed until empty.
Q There is a problem transmitting the file to the bank.
A Please
refer this question to the Bank! XenCo do not produce, sell or
support any file transmission software.
APACS30 (Authorisation process)
Q A New modem on a system that was working will not dial.
A1
On DOS systems ensure DTR/CD has come up.
A2
Change the DSR-WAIT (5th parameter of system_config= in xcas*.cfg) to zero.
A3 Use the AT
command to raise CD and FIX it before using it with CreditAble.
Q. I seem to get as many auths as I have
clients configured, but no more.
A. Your client module is out of date. It is not passing the session number in a close request, and they are then being ignored. ( search the journal for the word 'ignored' ).
Q. I'm trying to use a second PakNet port but without sucess.
A1 You must use a cable as specified by us.
Specification on request by e-mail with 'Paknet
cable' in the subject line
A2 Check the journal. If it uncludes the text CD was
found UNSET, you have a cable problem.
APACS50 (Acquirer 'polls' your machine overnight)
Q A Poll failed with "PASSWORD MISMATCH"
A Ask your polling agent (as per your merchant agreement) to reset the password they are using to 'the default password for XenCo'. Then delete the file xcas50.pwd from the credit/bin directory.
Q The polling seems to connect, but the journal then shows PARITY ERROR.
A The
acquirer has dropped the connection. Probably because they cannot
process an option in the CreditAble response.
If there are no HOT CARD FILES,then create
them using 'hotsetup' or 'hotset32' (see manual).
Q The polling works fine, but the journal then shows PARITY ERROR.
A This is
not a problem. Many modems do not bother to set parity correctly
when processing commands. If parity were a problem then the
poll would fail.
Q A New modem on a system that was working. Now it cannot be polled.
A1 On DOS
systems ensure DTR/CD has come up.
A2 Have
you changed modem types?
If your modem was a Rapido and you now
have a different make you need to contact us by e-mail to support.
Please be sure to attach your xcas50.cfg file and and
details of the new modem you have..
Q The program fails to find a file you can see from a list appears to be there.
A1 The case of the name matches that in the configuration file
(xcas50.cfg)
A2 The name may contain 'invisible' characters and on unix
use ls -lb fn option to check for this.
A3 Copy the file to another name (do not rename it),
changing the name in xcas50.cfg and run xcas50 again. If the
program now finds the file remove the original and rename the
copy to its original name.
CreditAble DLL
Q Calls to CreditAble API client DLL are rejected when you have checked the parameters.
A. To process your API request the DLL expects to find certain support files. Ensure the bin directory is on your current search path.
